Good water quality is the key to success in aquaculture. We put water quality first as a key perspective for fish welfare. The best water quality allows livestock to grow to their full potential resulting in strong and healthy fish. Our technologies provide the best water quality while reducing the need for maintenance and requires less personnel and less energy in daily operations.

DESINFECTION

Disinfection of wells and piping systems

Sterner’s AquaZone process has been approved by the Norwegian Medicines Agency for surface disinfection of wells and pipe systems.

The process is chemical-free, and a precise dose of ozone ensures that all surfaces are disinfected:

- Seawater is given a necessary dose of ozone ‘before’ being pumped into the well.
- Monitoring systems ensure that the water maintains a sufficient ORP before ethe water is returned into the sea.

The procedure ensures that all surfaces and piping systems are disinfected according to requirements. The treatment maintains good hygiene and eliminates pathogens and potential disease prior to receiving the next batch of fish

DRINKING WATER

Climate change and extreme weather is challenging the water supply in most countries including Norway. Leachate and agricultural run-off is increasing humic acid and the organic content in surface water sources.

Sterner designs and constructs turn key solutions for drinking water treatment plants. With over 30 years experience Sterner has developed a robust and reliable solution in the AquaZone process. No external chemicals and very low emissions AquaZone ensures safe and hygienic drinking water.

Sterner also supplies high quality components including UV systems, filtration, pumps etc.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT

Safe discharge with the correct Effluent Treatment

Discharges to recipients should not be a burden to the environment and there is increasing focus on wastewater treatment. It is only natural that the demands on wastewater treatment before discharge are increasing.

Sterner has provided expertise in wastewater treatment technology for over 30 years, illustrating this as an important market.

From industrial wastewater treatment from food or plastics production to the treatment of municipal sewage, Sterner provides well tested solutions and best available technologies (BAT) providing excellent treatment results. The resulting discharge is well within discharge permits and is gentle upon the recipient.
