This new version of the system, the Wärtsilä NACOS VALMATIC Platinum, is based on 30 years of experience and is a powerful state-of-the-art distributed process control and monitoring system.

NAVIGATION SYSTEMS

Wärtsilä’s navigation product range comprises a broad portfolio of systems applicable to all types and sizes of vessels. Our offering ranges from highly sophisticated integrated systems, to standard navigation systems of any size, or individual products for retrofit applications. The latest generation of Wärtsilä NACOS Platinum integrated navigation control systems represents a complete series of navigation products based on the latest hardware and software technologies. This series of products offers unprecedented features in terms of usability, scalability and networking, and is made possible by a single hardware and software platform.

Wärtsilä NACOS Platinum Naval Navigation includes multi-functional workstations that form an extremely versatile and redundant system. Each workstation is a master containing the software for selecting, monitoring and operating all applications, meaning that the system is not client/server based. It offers a full range of functions, such as Navigation Radar, WECDIS, Conning Display and Sonar Display. It is also possible to integrate several other systems. A variety of military and commercial radar heads may be employed as sensors. Wärtsilä NACOS Platinum Naval Navigation offers full interfacing capabilities with Combat Management, Platform Management, and Integrated Automation Systems, plus INS and more. It enables full integration between Naval Navigation and IPMS, while the Naval Navigation function may be interfaced with a variety of other sensors and sub-systems. Wärtsilä NACOS Platinum Naval Navigation is based on components certified for the marine environment. MIL STD components are optional. Quality assurance of software development and documentation follow MIL STD guidelines. The system may be designed according to customer requirements in order to deliver optimal performance and possibly reduce manning requirements.
